East Coast Surfing Championships

Held annually in Virginia Beach since 1963, the East Coast Surfing Championship (ECSC) is North America’s oldest running surfing competition. More than 100 of the world’s top professional surfers and about 300 amateur surfers compete in the event. Throughout the weekend, ECSC will host skim boarding, volleyball, skateboarding, a swimsuit competition, an oceanfront 5K run and live bands perform for free on oceanfront stages.

Verizon Wireless American Music Festival

Approximately 40 bands, including national recording artists, explode across the oceanfront celebrating a wide diversity of musical styles. It’s a non-stop party featuring some of the biggest names in the recording industry, as well as showcase for some of the most popular local and regional bands. Performances take place at the oceanfront parks and along the boardwalk.
