Important Information
For international visitors, electricity voltage is 110, but
an adapter may be used to convert from 220. Check with
consulates at home for visa and passport requirements.
The City of Virginia Beach publishes a general brochure
printed in French, Spanish, German and Japanese. It may be
obtained by calling 800-700-7702 or by visiting the Visitor Information Center, located at the end
of the Virginia Beach-Norfolk Expressway, I-264, across from
the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
It is customary to tip 15-20% of the bill for restaurant and
taxi service, and hotel porterage ranges from $1-$1.50 per bag.
Taxes are 13% for accommodations, 10% for restaurants and
4.5% for retail sales.
