Video Art Wall - July - 2008
Days: Monday - Friday; Weekends vary; call for times.
The new Virginia Beach Convention Center’s video art wall is the first of its size in the country with four walls totaling 360 feet in length. The walls showcase video installations by contemporary video artists, Tricia McLaughlin of New York and Robert Drummond of Los Angeles, who were selected from a national pool of artists.
Drummond’s high definition video, "Where Land Meets Water," is comprised of textural montages of nature and industry from around Virginia Beach.
McLaughlin’s animated work, "Aquatecture," depicts 3-D animated characters, Hefty Man and Slender Woman, who function as everyman and everywoman and are shown going about their daily lives in a virtual aquarium.

Magic: The Gathering Eventide Prerelease
Event Information: Doors open at 9am. Registration begins at this time.Thirty-two players flights will begin as filled.The Two-Headed Giant tournament will begin at 2:30pm. Booster drafts will start at approximately 1:00pm.
Door Prizes: Each hour, three Eventide booster packs will be randomly given to a player who is participating in one of the Eventide Prerelease events. Players participating in booster drafts are not eligible for this drawing. Players must be present to win.
